AFTER ALL I’VE BEEN THROUGH… GOD IS STILL GOOD!

What is the goodness of God? That which causes Him to be kind, bestowing blessing, taking pleasure in the happiness of His people. Genesis 1:3, 31.
1. GOD’S GOODNESS PRESENTED – “I will fill (satiate)”
a. Why does God present His goodness to us?
- Because He chooses to be good toward us. Psalms 8:4.
b. How is His goodness presented?
- To all nature and all mankind in general. Psalm 145:9, 15-16; Matthew 5:45; Psalms 104:14-32; Hebrews 1:3.
- To His own children with whom He’s personally involved
Deuteronomy 6:24, 28; Galatians 3:26; Psalms 65:4.
c. And what is it that He seeks to fill and satisfy?
- Our souls! It is the soul of man that is thirsty that is hungry that is empty. God created it to be filled with Himself. Psalms 63:1.
2. GOD’S GOODNESS IS PLENTIFUL – “with abundance”
a. What is the manifestation of His goodness?
Those things He will fill us with after we abandon our own. Contentment, security, love, rest, peace, freedom, wisdom, joy! Psalms 23:1, 5.
3. GOD’S GOODNESS IS PLEASING – “satisfied” God promises us satisfaction if we allow Him to be our only source of goodness. Psalm 34:10.
a) Trust that God’s motivation is good - Psalms 100:5
b) Stop interpreting my circumstances God means all for good! - Philippians 1:12
c) Have more gratitude & thanksgiving - instead of complaining. Psalms 135:3
d) Model God’s goodness to others – Galatians 6:10
e) Repent from sin (kindness leads us to repentance). Why sin against God, Who only does me good? Romans 2:4
f)Wait patiently on God’s goodness to fulfill my every need - Psalms 27:13
g) I can give fully & live fully to the Lord because of His Goodness Psalm 116:12.
h) Ask God to specifically do some noticeably good thing in your life. Psalms 84:17.
